Were you really in a Chinese opium den in Singapore? I toured some great places there (Raffles, arboretum/bird park, Middle East market, etc) but missed that one! LOL
Not an opium den, no. But there was a tea house in Chinatown that had as its centerpiece a huge, hand-carved antique opium bed, and they would serve tea to you there if you didn't mind sitting cross-legged for a long period of time. We went in to see it, but ended up having tea at a different place where they would perform a traditional tea service for you, and explain the whole process to you as they went along. Way fun!
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable. ~ Helen Keller
