I took my friend who's visiting from Belgium to Wimberley on Friday--my heart broke to see the sign on the gate at Blue Hole that it was closed due to low water. Ohhhhh, woe is me. ;-(
Yeah, it is sad, isn't it? They always close after Labor Day weekend, but this year - maybe for the first time ever, I'm not sure - they closed two weeks early. I was surprised it had enough water to open at all this summer, to tell you the truth, with the way things have been going around here. Come on, El Nino!
I'm with you on El Nino. I'm hoping for the water for my future home town, but I'm also hoping for the water for my current island. If we don't get rain within the next two months or so, we're looking at phase two water rationing. The last time it happened, most people who lived here took showers and took their dirty dishes in with them in order to comply with the 40 gallons per household restrictions.
Please let it rain. A lot. Soon.
