Oh man does the larger brown cone in the third pic take me back! That ornament has got to be from the mid 20th century, is it? We had one so much like it when I was a little girl; I think it finally got busted the year the tree fell face first into the middle of the living room floor because we had loaded so many decorations onto the front. LOL

OOO girl, you are NOT kidding! These are some wise words and I know JUST what you are talking about. I found you on my blog and I LOVE your blog. You're my kinda person...can i come over and you can cook for me as I am recovering from my train ride? We can talk about being wise and middle-aged. I'll bring really good wine...promise.

ME: Actually, the only old one is in that same pic, far right end of the bowl - you can just see the tip of it. More about it in the next posting. By the way, if it makes you feel any better, I gave myself an earworm, too!

CH: You're the WabiSabi garden gal, right? Love your blog too! Got sent to it by Pam @ Digging, and have been enjoying it for some time now. Can't wait to hear more about your looooooooong train trip with a 5-yr-old. It brings back such wonderful(?) memories of traveling back and forth to Indonesia...on my own (hubby came later)...in coach(hubby flew business class)... in the middle of a row of 5...with 2 little ones who kept falling asleep, and toppling onto the very stern Japanese businessmen next to them.
