CABIN FEVER

After six weeks of sticking very close to home with their new baby, our daughter and her hubs were getting a wee bit antsy. Not antsy enough to brave the inferno heat and mobs of people at Wimberley's annual 4th of July parade, mind you, but antsy enough to want some kind of family celebration. And so, being the kind of family we are, we decided to celebrate by taking Little Goober on his very first restaurant adventure!

We opted for Satellite Bistro in Austin, which has delicious-though-pricey food, but is noisy enough that a fussy baby wouldn't cause a huge scene.

The food was great, and the company even greater.

Don't worry! She only had three sips, and she wasn't due to nurse again for several hours.
You wouldn't know it from this picture, but they were actually having a great time.

The only thing sweeter than their signature Satellite Cake was this little fellow, in the plaid seersucker Bermuda shorts.

Not a peep out of him the whole time!

Of course, once he's a year or two older, I bet we'll all be just dyin' to take him to the parade, so that we can see it all through his eyes.  Hubby got up early this morning, heading down to the area where all the floats and vehicles gather before the parade begins, to snap a few pictures. Hopefully, I will have some good ones to share with you later this week.
