HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

My hubby comes up with THE most amazing surprises, does he not? (Notice the similarities in color gradation between this and the cake pan that I went nuts over a couple of days ago.)

I love your wind spinner! I've seen ones similar to it by a New Mexican artist. Do you know of a local source for them? I'd love to hear about it if you do!

There is a place over in Dripping Springs that carries them, called Solstice. We discovered them when we went on their Artists' Studio Tour last year, and fell in love with them. I think they actually order them from a guy in California though.

Here's a Happy Birthday wish Becky along with "Safe Journey" thoughts and positive energies sent to your Mom. I do hope she can be open to your entreaties to care for herself better; is this 'acting out' her not wanting to be in the seniors home? Take good care of yourself dear.

P.S. Beautiful spinner!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Actually, it's not until Wednesday.

ME: No, I don't think Mom is acting out because she doesn't want to be there. When she's feeling good, she seems pretty happy with her little place. I think it's more a combination of a lifetime of being waited on and never having to do anything for herself, and being so old that everything you have hurts and everything you do requires a huge amount of effort.

Oh yeah, and a third contributer - the only time I ever saw her get any exercise at all was once, for about 5 or 10 minutes, when Jack Lalane's show was the hot new thing, and she was curious what the hubub was all about.
