HAPPY EASTER!

There's a church right down the street from my daughter's house that is doing it's darnedest to serve the young families in the community. They have M.O.P.S. groups, they do a great pumpkin patch in fall and, at Easter, they pull out all the stops. Never having seen any of this myself, I wasn't quite prepared for what that entailed.

First of all, there was the petting zoo.

GOATS!!

Then they had not one, but two choo-choo trains, taking all the littles for rides around the parking lot at all times, so the waiting lines moved quickly.

They must have some great barbecues here, judging by all the heavy duty pits lined up in that shed you see in the background, and the second shed to the left of it which is filled with firewood. I'm wondering if that rusty metal thing to the right of it isn't a smoker?

Then, there was all this bouncy madness for the older kids.

Last but not least, there were the Easter egg hunts. Many of them, in fact, divided by age groups, rotating throughout the day.

Sadly for Mimi, the eggs were all empty, so there was no chocolate for me to snitch! Instead the kids carried their full buckets (whatever happened to baskets?) outside to a table where they exchanged all their eggs for a little prize or two.

So, out of all these amazing offerings, plus face painting and games and several other things I forgot to take photos of, what do you suppose our Little Goober loved most?

A quiet little playground back behind the church, spotted while on their train ride. Most especially, the little playhouse seen below, with a built in fireplace, stove, and a doorbell!!!

Which he pushed over, and over, and over again, even though it no longer makes a sound.
