SLOWER THAN CHRISTMAS TO-DO LIST

Know what's even harder than waiting for Christmas? Waiting for your average last freeze date to pass. I'm ready to get this show on the road! I bought a few cold hardy things that I can go ahead and plant now, but most of the stuff I want to put in my big pots and decorative containers will have to wait, I'm afraid. So hard.

Okay exactly what plants are you putting in your big red pots??? I love the picture! Will these be full sun or part shade? Need some new ideas...

The tall central plant will be a red yucca (hesperaloe parviflora). The trailers will be sweet potato vines - the deer adore them, but hopefully I can get away with growing them in the courtyard garden. In the middle will be two of my favorite succulents, though I don't know their names. They are probably in the echeveria family. I think the black and green one is Swartzkoph, or something like that. The yucca can take full sun, but the others would probably prefer morning sun, afternoon shade, which is what the courtyard is.

That's what I did all afternoon Linda. Beats going to the gym!
