CANTINA GARDEN UPDATE

Despite it having rained most of yesterday and last night, we had workers here as soon as the clouds began to part at the crack of dawn this morning. I was so excited when I saw what looked like pieces of a plywood arch being unloaded from their truck. I left at 10:30 to go workout and run errands. When I got back, we had this! The muhly grass has nothing to do with this, but was just so beautiful, I couldn't resist snapping a picture.

The arch is so fine, so fine and the muhly grass is just lovely---so ethereal---gotta get some.

Ken and I had taken photos of muhly grass on our way home from Texas, as something we would love to use for landscaping once we move. It looks deer and drought resistant.

It is! They never seem to bother any of my grasses, which was surprising to me.

You and Musingegret are both in the hat!

I love the arch! Is it going to have a gate too? It's coming along beautifully!

Yes, the arch will be covered in stucco, and a welder is making us a simple iron gate to go in it. We also got a bell to go at the top, which will be turned into a light. The welder is also making some punched metal sconces to go on either side. The fence will be made of de-barked cedar posts, which are going in each one of those tubes. They will be backed by hog panel, which more or less disappears at a distance, and you can see through it, but it will keep most critters out, except for the climbers.
