WHERE IS A MUSE WHEN YOU NEED ONE?

By the time I got back to Wimberley, after John's surgery, the Muses were all scattered hither and yon. They finally came back the day I had to leave again! I haven't really done much of anything creative all summer, and just can't get too excited about any of the projects I already have on hand (such as painting that garden bench, or finishing that dang orange wall). I'm certainly not in the mood for knitting tea cozies, when it's 107 out! Of course, this is fairly typical for me to go into a bit of a slump this time of year, now that I think about it. I guess I almost always lose interest in the garden, taking walks, and just about anything else that doesn't involve water, ice or AC, just about this same time. Yeahhhh, that's what I need - to be floating on cool blue waters, beneath shady cypress trees. The Blue Hole is acallin', and I am soooo ready to hold a Meeting of the Muses there!

Bless you, that Texas heat does sap everything out of you. Don't beat up on yourself, you'll be perky again when it turns cool in the fall.

I woke up to 43 degrees this morning. I believe the high for today is supposed to be 81.

We could use a break from all this Texas heat. My garden drowned with all the rain we got this Spring and now it's turning brown from all the heat. Plus your so right about it being too hot to go out and want to work in the garden. We wish we had a swiming pool on days like this.

You know your daughter is strange when she would trade in her 'sunny california' weather (which is pretty much no weather at all) for hot texas summers and cold winters, just because she misses having seasons.

Hey Steph - is this my niece Steph, or someone else?

Lex - we knew you were strange looong before this, but in a very good way!

All three of your names have been added to the hat!

We got a good drenchin' this a.m. accompanied with huge KABOOMS of thunder! Does your catchment system have a rain gauge? At least we're out of the triple digits for a day or two!

As an alternative to Blue Hole, here's a little place we found a couple years ago (very quiet then) on a weekday. We took our floaty 'noodles' and rented one big tube!
